Got up early hours of the day, had a big bowl of coco pops and began my journey to the graduation ceremony. My first task in the morning before I could go to the university campus was to drop my car off at the garage for repairs (no surprise).
But still continued on by getting a lift to the campus and with great PRIDE I started to walk towards the curve to go pay for a gown which would have cost me £45 to hire but left it to the last-minute and was charged an extra £10. The gown is now on and I proceed to take celebratory pictures with family looking proud and happy.
The ceremony, nice service and a very special moment to get applauded by people in the crowd as my name was announced.
After the ceremony, took the gown off and went for dinner and paid for the car repairs…
Overall an amazing day spent with my family and glad that I decided to attend my graduation ceremony would recommend it to any university student.
On Monday 16th July, our new recruit Chris graduated at Teesside University. It was a day of celebration for all involved, including the rest of the team. With two employees graduating on the same day, it was declared as a company day off for all to enjoy.
It was an early start to the day, getting up at 7am to get ready for a day to be proud of, arriving at Teesside University just before 9am heading straight to the Curve to get his gown. This was a very proud moment for not only himself but for his family. The gown would also prove useful after the ceremony, with many of the bars and restaurants offering free or discounted drinks for any graduate. This set the backbone to the rest of the day, as after the ceremony they went for lunch in Al Fornos then went into a few of the bars around the university.
Overall this was an incredible day and one he will most certainly remember. Even if getting up for work the following day was more difficult than normal.
Worked at Visualsoft as a developer. Before that I done an internship here at Tad Web after I graduated from Teesside University.
Started programming in college and decided I wanted to study it further in University.
Mainly getting to know the team and planning what I’m going to be working on.
Being able to create software that hopefully clients will be happy with and working with great people.
Transparency; being transparent with not only clients but also your colleagues.
Before joining the team, I completed a four year sandwich degree in web and multimedia. It was during these four years the true passion for front end web development started, although backend development was also completed.
The best aspect of working within the web development industry is seeing project which you have completed online and representing an organisation.
The key to the success to development is flexibility, the languages are forever changing so it is important to embrace these changes and build them into future projects.
